From a tech startup to Deloitte, here are 7 answers to the question, “What’s the best company for an HR internship?”
- JP Morgan Chase
- Cisco
- Accenture
- Look for a Direct Path
- Tech Startups
- A Recruiting Agency
- Deloitte
JP Morgan Chase Has Great Perks
JPMorgan Chase is a renowned international investment bank and provider of financial services with a lengthy history. As a result, it may become a highly sought-after location for interns eager to develop their skills and earn useful work experience. Benefits provided by JPMorgan to interns include competitive pay, health and wellness perks such as medical, dental, and vision insurance. The company also frequently offers interns full-time positions based on their performance and business needs after completing their internships. So if you have an interest in investment banking, this organization can be a wonderful fit.
Cisco Has An Amazing 12 Week Program
Global leaders in networking, IT, and cybersecurity, Cisco has its main office in San Jose, California. Cisco offers two distinct paid internship programs in human resources. Each of them starts off with a 12-week summer internship. Students can access it the summer before their senior year. There is also a three-year accelerated development program, the Human Resource Leadership Program (HRLP), for students pursuing an MBA, a master’s degree in human resources, or a doctorate in organizational behavior who have prior experience in human resources. The HRLP comprises three high-impact consulting roles with one-year assignments, giving interns practical experience in a range of leadership positions. The HRUP Rotational Program is the second HR internship. It is intended for students who have just received their bachelor’s degrees. This 27-month program consists of three nine-month rotations.
Accenture
A HR consulting company is the best type of company for an internship. You are likely to get more engagement, experience, and job opportunities in an HR consulting company than in a HR department of a random company. Accenture is one of these types of companies that is really good. It is a world-class company with state-of-the-art systems and professional services. The fact that the company includes digital management strategies and operational consulting makes it even better for an intern looking to learn.
Look for a Direct Path To Full Time At Any Company
There are companies that place a huge emphasis on their internship program. They put a lot of time and energy into creating a program that makes interns want to come back after graduation. This is a great perk for students interning at these companies. If they enjoy the experience and do a great job, they will likely be welcomed back as a full-time employee. Find companies that value their strong internship program and market that the majority of interns stay on as employees — then, make it a point to apply to those opportunities.
Tech Startups
Getting experience working on the HR team for a smaller tech startup provides the perfect opportunity. You will get a chance to do a variety of different tasks, be responsible for big projects, and watch as the HR team has to grow alongside the rest of the company. Tech startups are usually very lean, meaning their staff is small and tasked with a lot of work, which offers a great opportunity to grow and gain valuable experience. You could have a part in hiring, deal with customer service issues, create culture and morale decisions, and much more. As an internship, it’s the perfect place to be. You could even get experience in different areas that aren’t related to HR, including marketing, sales, and more. It’s just the perfect place to work for an HR internship!
A Recruiting Agency Or Firm
Working with a recruiting agency or something directly related to Human Resources would be the holy grail of HR internships, in my opinion. In this role, you’ll be working alongside a large staff of HR professionals who have come from different backgrounds, and everything you do will be related to the HR field. You can see how it all works from a few different perspectives and you will gain valuable experience that will look great on your resume moving forward. Working with a recruiting agency or HR firm would be like working with a full-service marketing agency before becoming a marketer in a smaller company. It’s like an extension of your education before you get out there and hit the job market!
